Emerging Technologies and Practices in Urban Stormwater Management

This one-day seminar focused on the recent developments and emerging technologies in the field of urban stormwater planning and management. Topics included new porous pavement designs included in the UDFCD criteria manual, updates of Douglas and Arapahoe Counties' drainage criteria manuals, a new water-quality management plan for Denver that encourages advanced practices, innovative landscape designs that improve property values as well as stormwater quality, examples of channels that include "a sense of place", a new detention-design method based on a "full spectrum" of design storms, new spreadsheets and computer models from the District, and a report on the Jefferson County floods of June 27, 2004.

Linking Stormwater BMP Designs and Performance to Receiving Water Impact Mitigation. Ben R. Urbonas, Editor

These proceedings contain 49 technical papers by leading experts in the field discussing the state-of-the-art and the state-of-practice in urban stormwater management technology.  The multi-disciplinary group of authors includes scientists, researchers, practicing engineers, and administrators address what we know today about the linkages between various BMP designs, their performance and their ability to mitigate the impact of urbanization on receiving waters.
